Our restaurant, Rule of Thirds, opened in February 2020. It is named after the guiding theory that the most compelling visual compositions are achieved through asymmetrical balance. What happens at the intersections of the grid is really interesting. This is a dream project for us that connects the dots between so many talented people whose work we’ve admired for a while— our graphic designers, interior designer, sake importers, ceramicists, and business partners from Sunday Hospitality— they are all longtime friends that we met years ago while working at Okonomi // Yuji Ramen.
Through this collaboration, we’re aiming to foster a community around Japanese food, drinks, and shared time together.
In March 2022, we opened our sake shop called Bin Bin Sake. It is a sake shop for natural wine lovers! Our bottle selections are lovingly curated to showcase a diverse range of imported Nihonshu as well as local jizake. You can also find many shochu, Japanese whisky (and other spirits), plus some great natural wines from around the world. Tastings and monthly subscriptions are offered.
